A Fine Pair of Andre Arbus Footstools
A fine and rare pair of Andre Arbus Footstools.
Classically Arbus, the legs are of elegant neoclassical sweeping form, the X shape is beautifully balanced with decorative circular moulded discs and the sharp lines of the raised sprung cushion. Painstakingly hand finished and stained to resemble ebony macassar.
Presented in original condition these footstools have received a light polish, the original silk upholstery remains, but as expected is stained and marked.
Part of a larger set of furniture including two grand armchairs and four side chairs, sourced from an untouched Parisian apartment decorated in the 1940's containing a collection of Arbus and Leleu design.
Dimensions D 40 W 55 H 46 cm.
