A large abstract painting by Jules de Goede, untitled, 2005.

Mixed media oil on canvas, signed and dated 05 on the reverse.

In this relief composition a subtle diagonal channel runs through the centre of the canvas bridged with applied canvas strips, housed in artist made frame.

Jules de Goede, 1937-2007, was a Dutch abstract artist who lived and worked in London. He specialised in subtly shaped canvases using relief and collage elements to explore the spatial and sculptural elements of picture-making.

"de Goede painted highly sophisticated and intellectually coherent abstract canvases, wholly contemporary in their feel. However, the long tradition from which they came was that of artists such as Pieter Saenredam,][the de Stijl school and his beloved Mondrian." The Guardian.

Dimensions: 6 x 133.5 x 147.5 cm
